# Student Discounts on Hitch Rides

Hitch offers a **5% discount** for students actively enrolled in a U.S.-based degree program.

To enable the student discount, students must add and verify their student email. This ensures the discount is applied automatically to all eligible rides.

### How the Discount Works

* The **5% discount applies automatically** to your fare.
* The discount only applies if the final fare (after promotions, credits, or referrals) is greater than $0.
* Check the app or website for any changes to student discounts.
* The discount is only available if you have successfully added and verified your student email.

### How to Qualify

1. Open the Hitch app and navigate to the Menu.
2. Select 'Account Information.'
3. Add your student email under the appropriate category (usually as a secondary email).
4. Once your student email is verified, the discount will automatically be applied to eligible rides.
