As soon as you notice the item is missing, contact us via in-app chat or through our website.
Provide specific details about the item and where it may be in the car. A photo is helpful if available. Include your trip details when reporting the issue, such as the date, time, and route.
Most cases are resolved within 24-48 hours, and our support team will keep you updated during the process.
What To Do If an Item Is Not Found
Sometimes, a driver may report that your item is not in the vehicle. In such cases:
Double-check pick-up locations or places visited before the ride.
For valuable items, take preventive steps like locking bank cards or replacing important documents.

Riders are responsible for their belongings. Hitch and drivers are not liable for items left behind, and we cannot guarantee recovery.
If an item is found, we’ll connect you and the driver via the phone numbers on your profiles.
You and the driver will coordinate the return directly. Drivers are not obligated to return lost items.
Please only contact drivers during business hours and be respectful of their time.
Drivers may be on the road or in a different city, so arranging a meetup may take time. We recommend meeting in a public place for safety. For further details, refer to Hitch's Lost Item Policy.
