Did you leave an item in one of your Hitch rides?

If you think you left something behind, we’ll try to contact your driver to check if it was found.

  • As soon as you notice the item is missing, contact us via in-app chat or through our website.

  • Provide specific details about the item and where it may be in the car. A photo is helpful if available. Include your trip details when reporting the issue, such as the date, time, and route.

  • Most cases are resolved within 24-48 hours, and our support team will keep you updated during the process.

What To Do If an Item Is Not Found

Sometimes, a driver may report that your item is not in the vehicle. In such cases:

  • Double-check pick-up locations or places visited before the ride.

  • For valuable items, take preventive steps like locking bank cards or replacing important documents.

Important Notes

  • Riders are responsible for their belongings. Hitch and drivers are not liable for items left behind, and we cannot guarantee recovery.

  • If an item is found, we’ll connect you and the driver via the phone numbers on your profiles.

  • You and the driver will coordinate the return directly. Drivers are not obligated to return lost items.

  • Please only contact drivers during business hours and be respectful of their time.

  • Drivers may be on the road or in a different city, so arranging a meetup may take time. We recommend meeting in a public place for safety. For further details, refer to Hitch's Lost Item Policy.
