If you believe you left an item behind in a Hitch ride, we'll contact your driver to see if they've located it.
As soon as you notice you are missing something, please contact us through live chat in-app or on the website browser.
Sending specific detail about your item(s) and where you believe it might be in the car will be helpful, and if you have an image, that's even better.
Please note that while it's always our goal to assist you, per our policies, the rider is solely responsible for all items they bring into a Hitch ride. Neither Hitch nor drivers are responsible for the items left in a vehicle after a trip ends. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the safe return of any items left behind.
If the item is located, we will connect you and the driver through personal phone numbers on the user profile. At that point, it is up to you and the driver to connect and Hitch can no longer assist with the transaction. We ask the rider and driver to respect the personal phone number given and only contact during business hours. Keep in mind that drivers are driving - and may not be able to respond right away. Additionally, they may not live in the city you are now in - so it may take some time to coordinate a meet-up. Stay safe. We recommend meeting in a public location.
